Megan Schmid, RN, BSN, CCHC
Child Care Health Consultant & Founder of Pixie Nursing, LLC
As a licensed Child Care Health Consultant with over 13 years of experience in school health, I have a strong passion for supporting the well-being of children from early childhood through middle school.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Platt College School of Nursing and in 2011 began my career at Graland Country Day School as the school’s onsite nurse and as the health consultant for the childcare program, which I helped establish and grow over the course of my tenure. My broad experience in an educational environment makes me uniquely qualified to provide expert guidance on childcare and school health programs and policies. As the health consultant for Graland Country Day, I played an instrumental role in the development of the school’s childcare program, ensuring that the program provides a safe and nurturing environment for young children. I developed health protocols, advised on best practices for managing illnesses and injuries, and trained childcare staff on emergency procedures and health-related issues.
As a resident of the west Denver foothills, I wanted to serve and support my local community. I launched Pixie Nursing in 2024 to provide personalized health consulting services to childcare centers in the foothills communities and Denver area. Pixie Nursing expands my ability to support childcare centers by offering a range of services, including staff training and guidance on managing chronic conditions and emergency care. I partner with childcare center owners, directors, and staff to create customized solutions that ensure compliance with state regulations while promoting a holistic approach to child health. My passion for health education and my expertise in both nursing and early childhood development make me a trusted resource for childcare centers seeking to improve their health practices.
The quality of my work reflects my commitment to child health and education, and through Pixie Nursing, I am proud to help childcare centers provide the best possible care to young children at a critical stage of their development.
In my free time, I love being with my family – my fiancée and our five kids. We enjoy skiing, hiking, and traveling on road trips together.
I look forward to helping your childcare center meet its health consulting requirements!
